The Antica Task Table Lamp is part of the Alcocer collection by OHLA Studio, a series of copper lighting pieces produced through artisan workshops in Michoácán, Mexico.
The lamp sits on a flat round base, its slender cylindrical stem carrying a broad, shallow conical shade with a distinctively irregular rim. That hand-formed, wavy edge is the Antica signature, the one moment of ornamental departure from what is otherwise a rigorously spare form. A small cylindrical switch on the base completes the composition, the only functional element made visible.
All Antica pieces are made from recycled copper scraps processed by local artisans using goldsmiths' techniques rooted in Tarascan metalworking. The copper is finished to a brushed silver-grey tone, a deliberate distance from the metal's expected warmth. The result is a table lamp that reads as both functional object and craft statement.
The task format suits a desk or working surface. The Antica Task Table Lamp shares its craft origins with the Antica Chandelier, the Antica Floor Lamp, the sconce, and the pendants in the Alcocer collection, the 2022 debut of OHLA Studio, founded in San Miguel de Allende by Giulia Zink and Mat Trumbull.

About
Ohla Studio
OHLA Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2017 by Giulia Zink and Mat Trumbull, based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The Italian-American duo works across art direction, interior design, and landscape design, with a practice rooted in close collaboration with local artisans and centuries-old craft traditions.
Their work is guided by a single conviction: "We manifest age-old visions with contemporary possibilities." Each piece begins as a metaphor, a formal idea resolved through traditional techniques including stone carving, goldsmithing, and metal casting, with references ranging from Fabergé jewelry and Mayan stone relics to Italian travertine quarries. Materials are chosen for their sensory presence: cast aluminum, local travertine, bronze, ceramics, copper, and leather.
The studio relocated to San Miguel de Allende during the COVID-19 pandemic, a move that proved formative. Embedded in a city with deep craft traditions, OHLA Studio expanded into collectible furniture, launching the Alcocer collection in 2022. The Alcocer pieces were introduced at the Unno Gallery in Mexico City in February 2023, marking the studio's first foray into exhibition-scale furniture. The practice also extends to residential and hospitality projects: the Sin Nombre residence and gallery in San Miguel de Allende, estates in Napa, California, and boutique hotels in Mérida.
Collectible works by OHLA Studio on Monde Singulier include pieces from the Alcocer collection, each handcrafted in collaboration with artisans in San Miguel de Allende.
