The story
The ert padded chair in pewter is part of studioutte's SOFT SOLID collection, and among the most materially assertive pieces in the range.
Seven wooden boards form the body. A slender band wraps the square seat, rising from the legs through a central post to the half-moon carved backrest. The band's twist as it climbs is the formal gesture of the piece, where flat geometry becomes spatial. The form draws on Dutch Neoplasticism, a tradition of graphic simplicity that studioutte has consistently translated into domestic objects.
This version is coated in pewter, a metallic finish that reads as stone from a distance and reveals its metallic nature only in raking light. A padded cushion upholstered in ivory Dedar fabric sits on the seat. The contrast between the heavy pewter coating and the delicate textile is deliberate, characteristic of the SOFT SOLID collection's approach to materiality.
Developed exclusively for Monde Singulier, produced in limited edition with Italian craftsmen.
About Studioutte
Established in 2020, studioutte is a Milan-based multidisciplinary practice for architecture, interiors and collectible design. The name draws from the German *hütte*, meaning hut or shelter, a word that carries the spirit of the studio's approach.
Guglielmo Giagnotti and Patrizio Gola founded studioutte around a shared philosophy of warm minimalism: a pursuit of purity through vernacular forms, primitive essence, and poetic restraint. Furniture is conceived as small architectural objects. Their pieces are made from solid wood, raw metal, and occasional polyester lacquer, materials valued for the patina and imperfections that develop with time and use. Production is entirely handcrafted in collaboration with Italian artisans in Padova, Milan, and the wider Lombard region.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
