Terms and Conditions of Sale for Consumers

Consumers: you can withdraw from your purchase online, Withdraw from the contract here.

Version: B2C-2026-10 — In force from: 21 October 2026

1. Who we are

1.1. The Products are sold by MONDE SINGULIER, a French société par actions simplifiée with a share capital of €3,570.80, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 912 338 431, registered office 73 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75009 Paris, France, VAT number FR61912338431 ("Monde Singulier", "we", "us").

1.2. Contact: email orders@monde-singulier.com for anything relating to your order (withdrawal, delivery, claims, after-sales), contact@monde-singulier.com for any other request — telephone +33 6 49 61 86 35 — post: the address above. Customer service is available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Paris time).

2. Scope

2.1. These General Terms of Sale for Consumers (the "Terms") apply to every sale of Products by Monde Singulier to a natural person acting for purposes outside his or her trade, business, craft or profession (a "Consumer", "you"), whether the order is placed on www.monde-singulier.com (the "Website") or by accepting a quotation sent by our team.

2.2. Professional buyers are governed by our General Terms of Sale for Professional Buyers.

2.3. The following documents form part of these Terms: the Delivery and Shipping and the Returns, Withdrawal and Warranties. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal data.

2.4. You must accept these Terms before placing an order. The version that applies is the one in force on the date of your order: your Order Confirmation contains a link to these Terms, the version you accepted is recorded with your order, and we send you a copy of it on request.

3. Definitions

The definitions of "Designer", "Product", "In-Stock Product", "Made-to-Order Product", "Custom Product", "Quotation", "Order Confirmation", "Deposit" and "Balance" are the following:

  • "Designer": the independent designer or workshop that designs and/or makes a Product. You contract with Monde Singulier only.
  • "In-Stock Product": a finished Product available for immediate dispatch.
  • "Made-to-Order Product": a Product from our catalogue made for you after your order, in a configuration offered on the product page.
  • "Custom Product": a Product made to your own specifications or clearly personalised (see the Returns, Withdrawal and Warranties, B2).
  • "Quotation", "Order Confirmation", "Deposit", "Balance": as described in Articles 5 and 6.

4. Products

4.1. The essential characteristics of each Product (dimensions, materials, finishes, country of manufacture, production time) are shown on its product page or in the Quotation. Please read them carefully before ordering.

4.2. Photographs and on-screen colours are for illustration only. Our Products are handmade from natural materials: variations in grain, veining, colour, patina and texture, and small irregularities, are inherent to them and are not defects. These characteristics are described on the product page and in the Returns, Withdrawal and Warranties (Part G).

4.3. Unless stated otherwise on the product page, Products are designed for indoor residential use.

4.4. A Product is sold with a certificate of authenticity, a signature, a number or as part of a limited edition only where this is stated on its product page or in the Quotation.

4.5. Most of our Products are made to order by independent Designers; the production time shown on the product page ("Production & delivery") is indicated in weeks.

5. Ordering

5.1. On the Website. You select the Products, the delivery country and currency, and, where offered, the delivery service. Before confirming, you can review your order, its total price and correct any error. By clicking the "Order and pay" button (displayed as "Order and pay by card", "Order and pay by PayPal" or "Order and pay by bank transfer", depending on the payment method chosen), you place an order with an obligation to pay.

5.2. We confirm your order by email (the "Order Confirmation"), which summarises the Products, the total price, the payment schedule, the delivery address and the latest delivery date (Article 7), and attaches or links to these Terms.

5.3. By Quotation. Our team may also send you a written Quotation. The contract is formed when you accept the Quotation in writing and we send you the Order Confirmation. A Quotation is valid for the period stated on it, or for 14 calendar days if no period is stated.

5.4. "Shipping to be quoted". Where the delivery cost cannot be calculated online, the Website shows "Shipping to be quoted" and no payment is taken. Your request, sent by clicking "Send my order request", is then not yet a binding order: we send you by email the total price including delivery, and the contract is formed only when you accept it and pay the full price (Article 6.4 (a)). You are free not to accept it. The delivery quotation is sent within 2 working days and remains valid for 14 days; if you do not accept and pay it within that period, your request lapses and is cancelled at no cost to you, and we tell you so by email.

5.5. We may refuse an order in case of a manifest pricing error, an abnormal request or a previous unpaid order, or cancel it if a Designer can no longer make the Product; any sum paid is then refunded in full within 14 days.

5.6. Record of your contract. For any order of EUR 120 or more, we keep the contract for 10 years from delivery and give you access to it on request (Articles L. 213-1 and D. 213-1 of the French Consumer Code).

6. Prices and payment

6.1. Prices are shown in the currency displayed on the Website for your delivery country or stated in your Quotation, and the price you pay is the one shown in that currency when you order. Prices:

  • (a) for delivery in the European Union, include VAT at the rate applicable in the country of delivery;
  • (b) for delivery outside the European Union, exclude VAT, as exports are exempt from French VAT.

6.2. Delivery costs are shown separately before you confirm your order (or in your Quotation). Customs duties, import VAT or sales taxes and other charges of the country of destination outside the European Union ("Import Charges") are not included and are payable by you on import (see the Delivery and Shipping, Article 6). Our team can give you an indication before you order.

6.3. The price applicable is the one shown on the Website or in the Quotation when you place your order. No fee is charged for the payment method you choose.

6.4. Payment schedule.

  • (a) Website orders: the full price, including delivery costs, is paid when you place your order (or, for "Shipping to be quoted", when you accept the delivery quotation).
  • (b) Orders by Quotation for Made-to-Order or Custom Products: a Deposit of 50 % of the price is payable on acceptance, and the Balance before dispatch, as stated in the Quotation and on the invoice.

6.5. The Deposit is an "acompte" (part-payment), not "arrhes". It makes the sale firm for both parties. Consequently, outside the cases where you have a right of withdrawal or a right to cancel under these Terms or the law, you cannot cancel the order simply by giving up the Deposit, and we cannot cancel it simply by returning double the Deposit.

6.6. Payment methods: payment card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) or PayPal at checkout on the Website, or bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice, quoting the payment reference shown on it. For orders by Quotation, payment by card may be offered through a secure payment link, depending on the amount of the order. A bank transfer is made in the currency of your invoice or Quotation (euro, US dollar, pound sterling or UAE dirham); the charges of your own bank remain payable by you, and the amount we receive must cover the invoice. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we never store your full card details. Our order emails, invoices and payment details are sent only from @monde-singulier.com addresses (sender: orders@monde-singulier.com). Before sending a transfer to bank details you do not yet know or that have changed, call your sales contact on a number you already know (never one given in the email itself).

6.7. We issue an invoice for each order, in French if your billing address is in France and in English otherwise.

6.8. Promotional codes. A promotional code is entered in the field provided at checkout, before the order is confirmed; only one code per order is accepted. It applies to the price of the Products only, never to delivery costs, and may be limited in time, in number of uses or to one customer. It cannot be applied after the order, nor to a sale by Quotation unless the Quotation says so. It has no cash value. If the order is cancelled or withdrawn from, the code is not refunded in cash: the refund is the amount actually paid.

7. Delivery date and late delivery

7.1. Before you order, the product page or your Quotation states the production time of the Product, and the delivery price or delivery quotation states the transit time to your country. The latest date by which the Products will be delivered (the "Delivery Date") is the end of that production time plus that transit time, counted from your order; we confirm it to you by email on request. For Made-to-Order and Custom Products paid by Deposit, the production time runs from receipt of the Deposit and, where applicable, your written approval of drawings or finishes.

7.2. We keep you informed of the progress of your order. If we anticipate that the Delivery Date may be exceeded, we will tell you as soon as possible.

7.3. If the Products are not delivered by the Delivery Date, you may ask us, by email or letter, to deliver within a reasonable additional period. If we fail to do so, you may terminate the contract by email or letter, and we will refund all sums paid within 14 days (Articles L. 216-6 and L. 216-3 of the French Consumer Code). You may terminate immediately, without giving us an additional period, if we refuse to deliver or if the Delivery Date was an essential condition of your order.

7.4. You may agree to a new delivery date proposed by us; in that case it replaces the Delivery Date.

8. Delivery and transfer of risk

8.1. Products are delivered to the address stated in your order, according to the service level chosen, as described in the Delivery and Shipping.

8.2. The Products travel at our risk. The risk of loss or damage passes to you only when you, or a person designated by you other than the carrier, take physical possession of them. If you choose your own carrier, not proposed by us, the risk passes when we hand the Products over to that carrier (Article L. 216-4 of the French Consumer Code).

8.3. Please check the Products on delivery and record any damage on the delivery note, and notify us within 72 hours as described in the Delivery and Shipping (Article 8). This helps us to act quickly; it does not limit your legal rights (Article 10).

8.4. Ownership of the Products passes to you on full payment of the price.

9. Right of withdrawal

9.1. You have a right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of taking physical possession of the Products, without giving any reason, except for Custom Products, which cannot be returned.

9.2. The right of withdrawal applies to In-Stock Products and to Made-to-Order Products ordered in a standard configuration shown on the product page.

9.3. Custom Products can be neither returned nor exchanged (Article L. 221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code). A Product is a Custom Product where it is made to your specifications or clearly personalised, in particular: the choice of a fabric, finish, lacquer or colour outside the standard options shown on the product page; modified dimensions; a piece designed or developed for you. You are informed of this before you confirm your order, on the Quotation and again in the Order Confirmation.

9.4. To withdraw, inform us of your decision before the end of the 14-day period by an unambiguous statement: by email to orders@monde-singulier.com, by post to MONDE SINGULIER, 73 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75009 Paris, France, or using the model withdrawal form (optional), stating your order number. We acknowledge receipt of your withdrawal by email without delay.

9.5. The Product must be returned unused, complete, in its original condition and, where possible, in its original packaging, within 14 days of informing us of your decision. Given the nature of our Products, which cannot be returned by post, we arrange collection with our carrier. The direct cost of return is borne by you; it does not exceed the delivery price paid for that Product (shown at checkout or in your Quotation) and is confirmed to you before collection. You are liable only for any loss in value of the Product resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

9.6. We refund all sums paid, including the initial delivery costs (except the extra cost of a delivery method more expensive than the standard delivery offered), within 14 days of receiving your decision, using the payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. We may withhold the refund until we have recovered the Product or until you have supplied proof of having sent it back, whichever is earlier.

9.7. The full conditions, the model withdrawal form and the refund rules are set out in Part B of the Returns, Withdrawal and Warranties, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Legal guarantees

10.1. Monde Singulier is liable, as seller, for any lack of conformity of the Products under the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code) and for hidden defects (Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code), whether the Product was made by Monde Singulier or by a Designer.

10.2. The mandatory information on these guarantees, and how to make a claim, are set out in Part E of the Returns, Withdrawal and Warranties, reproduced here (English translation; in the French version of these Terms, the official French text of the Annex to Article D. 211-2 of the French Consumer Code applies):

The consumer has a period of two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity in the event of a lack of conformity. During this period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.

Where the contract for the sale of the goods provides for the supply of digital content or a digital service on a continuous basis for a period of more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the intended period of supply. During this period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service, not the date on which it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity entails an obligation for the professional, where applicable, to provide all updates necessary to maintain the conformity of the goods.

The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to the repair or replacement of the goods within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to the consumer.

If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial guarantee.

If the consumer requests repair of the goods but the seller imposes replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date of replacement of the goods.

The consumer may obtain a reduction of the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and obtain a full refund against return of the goods, if:

1° the professional refuses to repair or replace the goods;

2° repair or replacement of the goods takes place after a period of thirty days;

3° repair or replacement of the goods causes a major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular where the consumer permanently bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;

4° the lack of conformity of the goods persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.

The consumer is also entitled to a reduction of the price of the goods or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. The consumer is then not required to request repair or replacement of the goods first.

The consumer is not entitled to termination of the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.

Any period during which the goods are immobilised for repair or replacement suspends the guarantee that remained to run until the goods are handed back in working order.

The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code.

A seller who in bad faith obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10 % of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).

The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for a period of two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund against return of the goods.

10.3. We do not currently offer a commercial warranty in addition to the legal guarantees.

11. Cancellation of an order outside the right of withdrawal

11.1. Before production has started (i.e. before we have received your Deposit and your approval of any drawings or finishes), you may cancel a Made-to-Order or Custom Product order free of charge; sums paid are refunded within 14 days.

11.2. After production has started, a Custom Product order cannot be cancelled by you, except in the cases provided by law (including late delivery, Article 7.3). If you nevertheless cancel it, we may retain the Deposit, up to the costs actually incurred for your order, which we will justify on request.

11.3. We may cancel the order if you fail to pay the Balance within 15 days of a reminder sent after its due date; the Deposit is then retained within the limit of Article 11.2 and the Products are not delivered.

12. Liability

12.1. We are liable for the proper performance of the contract, including where it is performed by Designers or carriers, subject to the legal exceptions (your own act, the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party, or force majeure).

12.2. We are not liable for damage resulting from use of the Products contrary to their intended use or to the care instructions, or from installation, assembly or modification by a third party.

12.3. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Intellectual property

The designs, names, images and texts presented on the Website are protected by intellectual property rights belonging to the Designers and/or Monde Singulier. Buying a Product transfers ownership of that Product only; it does not transfer any right to reproduce its design.

14. Personal data

We process your personal data to manage your order, delivery, invoicing and our relationship with you, and, with your consent where required, to send you news. Details, your rights and how to exercise them are set out in our Privacy Policy. You may object at any time to marketing and register on the French "Bloctel" telephone opt-out list.

15. Customer service and complaints

For any question or complaint about an order, contact us at orders@monde-singulier.com or by post to the address in Article 1.1. We will reply within 5 working days.

16. Consumer mediation

16.1. If a dispute is not resolved after a written complaint to our customer service, you may refer it, free of charge, to the following consumer mediator, within one year of your written complaint: CM2C — 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris — www.cm2c.net — online referral: https://www.cm2c.net/declarer-un-litige.php

16.2. Mediation is optional: you may also bring proceedings before the competent court.

17. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code. If it lasts more than 2 months, either party may terminate the order, and sums paid for Products not delivered are refunded within 14 days.

18. Governing law and courts

18.1. These Terms are governed by French law. This choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence, where those provisions are more favourable to you.

18.2. In case of dispute, you may bring proceedings before the courts of the place where you live or of the place of delivery, or any other court competent under the applicable rules. If you live in another Member State of the European Union, you may bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence, and we may only sue you there.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The version applicable to your order is the one you accepted when ordering.

20. Language

These Terms are available in English and in French. If you live in France, the French version applies. In other cases, the English version applies; any translation is provided for convenience only.

21. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the other provisions remain in force.
