The story
Carlo Bugatti
This rare desk and matching chair bear witness to the imagination and eccentricity of Carlo Bugatti, a bold choice for collectors with a taste for the extraordinary. Walnut, vellum, pewter and bone intarsia, punched copper and long silk tassels come together in forms that feel both ancient and avant-garde. Six small drawers carry enigmatic glyph-like script, while a vellum-clad pigeonhole softens the geometry. Restoration by Jeroen van Koolwijk, full report available on request.
