Cookie policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This page explains which cookies and other trackers are used on www.monde-singulier.com (the "Website"), what they are for, how long they stay on your device, and how to accept them, refuse them or change your mind. It applies article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the CNIL's guidelines and recommendation on cookies and other trackers (deliberations no. 2020-091 and no. 2020-092 of 17 September 2020).
It replaces the previous versions.
The Website is published by MONDE SINGULIER, a French simplified joint stock company whose registered office is at 73 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75009 Paris, France, and runs on the platform of Shopify International Limited. For any question: contact@monde-singulier.com.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser when you visit it, and can read again on your later visits. Here we call "cookies" all trackers that work in the same way: cookies, pixels, tags and information stored in your browser's memory.
Some cookies are set by the Website itself, through the Websiteify platform. Others may be set by outside services: these services also read them and are responsible for them for their own use.
2. The four categories of cookies
Shopify's consent banner sorts cookies into four categories:
- Strictly necessary: essential for the Website to work (cart, sign-in to your account, payment security, memory of your cookie choices). They are always active and do not require your consent.
- Preferences: remember your comfort choices (for example language, country or currency). They are set only with your consent.
- Audience measurement (analytics): tell us how many people visit the Website, which pages they view and where they come from, so that we can improve the Website. They are set only with your consent.
- Marketing: measure the effectiveness of our advertising and allow relevant advertising to be shown. They are set only with your consent.
3. Essential cookies, set without your consent
Without these cookies, the Website cannot keep your cart, keep you signed in, show the right prices or secure payment. They serve no other purpose and are not used for advertising. These are the main Shopify cookies (durations are those given by Shopify, for guidance):
- _shopify_essential: operation of the Website and of customer account pages; indicative duration: up to 1 year.
- cart: retrieve the contents of your cart; indicative duration: about 2 weeks.
- localization: remember your country and language to show the right prices and lead times; indicative duration: up to 1 year.
- secure_customer_sig: keep you signed in to your customer account; indicative duration: up to 1 year.
- _tracking_consent: remember your cookie choices; duration: up to 12 months.
4. Cookies that require your consent
The other cookies are set only with your consent, collected by the banner shown on your first visit if you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Until you have answered, or if you refuse, they are not set.
Audience measurement
The Website uses Shopify's statistics. With your consent, Shopify sets two cookies:
- _shopify_y: recognise a visitor from one visit to the next in order to count visits; indicative duration: up to 1 year.
- _shopify_s: group the pages viewed during a single visit; indicative duration: 30 minutes.
Google Analytics, described under "Marketing and advertising" below, also measures audience, only with your consent.
Marketing and advertising
We use measurement and advertising tools, only after you have given your consent by clicking "Accept" in the banner:
- Google Analytics (Google): audience measurement.
- Google Ads (Google): measurement of conversions and remarketing.
- Meta Pixel (Meta, Facebook and Instagram): measurement and advertising.
- Pinterest Tag (Pinterest): measurement and advertising.
They are used to measure traffic and the effectiveness of our advertising, and to show you our pieces on these platforms. Without your consent, these tools are not loaded. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time with the "Change my choices" button in section 5 below. Each tool keeps its data for its own duration, 13 months at most (CNIL recommendation).
Preferences
If the Website uses preference cookies, they are set only with your consent and remember only your comfort choices.
For the full, up-to-date list of Shopify cookies, see Shopify's cookie policy. These providers may process data outside the European Union; our privacy policy explains with what safeguards.
5. Accepting, refusing, changing your mind
- On your first visit, the Websiteify banner offers three buttons: "Accept", "Decline" and "Manage preferences" (to choose category by category). Refusing is as easy as accepting and has no effect on your access to the Website or on your orders.
- To change your mind, click the "Change my choices" button below at any time: the preferences panel reopens and you can withdraw or give your consent, category by category. Withdrawing your consent does not erase what was collected before, but stops any new setting of cookies.
Your choice is kept by Shopify for a maximum of twelve months (the _tracking_consent cookie), after which the banner asks you again; you can change it at any time. Trackers that require your consent last thirteen months at most, and the information they collect is kept for twenty-five months at most.
6. Your browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some functions of the Website (sign-in, cart, payment) will stop working.
7. Your data and your rights
The information collected by cookies is personal data. Our privacy policy explains how we use it and how to exercise your rights (access, erasure, objection, etc.). You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
8. Changes to this policy
We update this page when we add, remove or change a cookie. If a change requires your consent again, the banner will be shown again.
