The story
The ert chair by Studioutte is a seven-board wooden structure from the SOFT SOLID collection, presented here in a glossy gray-brown lacquer developed exclusively for Monde Singulier.
The construction follows a strict organizational logic. A slender band wraps the square seat, anchored at its center by a single post that connects the leg line to the low, half-moon backrest. A transparent glass panel sits within the back frame, visible from behind, setting the polished wood against a clear plane. In the spirit of Dutch Neoplasticism, ert is a three-dimensional diagram of its own structure.
The gray-brown lacquer has a high-gloss finish, the color sitting between aged walnut and warm graphite. The sheen gives the geometric form an almost monochromatic softness while maintaining the sharp edge definition that marks the Neoplasticist reference.
As part of SOFT SOLID, the ert chair in glossy lacquer reflects the collection's recurring interest in how surface treatment shifts a piece's perceived material without altering its geometry.
About Studioutte
Established in 2020, studioutte is a Milan-based multidisciplinary practice for architecture, interiors and collectible design. The name draws from the German *hütte*, meaning hut or shelter, a word that carries the spirit of the studio's approach.
Guglielmo Giagnotti and Patrizio Gola founded studioutte around a shared philosophy of warm minimalism: a pursuit of purity through vernacular forms, primitive essence, and poetic restraint. Furniture is conceived as small architectural objects. Their pieces are made from solid wood, raw metal, and occasional polyester lacquer, materials valued for the patina and imperfections that develop with time and use. Production is entirely handcrafted in collaboration with Italian artisans in Padova, Milan, and the wider Lombard region.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
