The story
The ert chair in burl wood is part of studioutte's SOFT SOLID collection, one of the clearest expressions of the ert family's seven-board architecture.
The construction is consistent with the rest of the ert range: a slender band wraps the square seat, rising from the legs through a central post to the low, half-moon carved backrest. The band's twist as it climbs is the formal event of the piece, the point where flat geometry becomes spatial. The form draws on Dutch Neoplasticism, a tradition of graphic simplicity that studioutte has absorbed and translated into a warmly Italian idiom.
This version is presented in blonde burl wood veneer with a glossy finish, developed exclusively for Monde Singulier. The burl grain, with its unpredictable swirling pattern, plays directly against the strict geometry of the form: the same contrast between order and organic material that runs through the SOFT SOLID collection.
Produced in limited edition with craftsmen in Padova.
About Studioutte
Established in 2020, studioutte is a Milan-based multidisciplinary practice for architecture, interiors and collectible design. The name draws from the German *hütte*, meaning hut or shelter, a word that carries the spirit of the studio's approach.
Guglielmo Giagnotti and Patrizio Gola founded studioutte around a shared philosophy of warm minimalism: a pursuit of purity through vernacular forms, primitive essence, and poetic restraint. Furniture is conceived as small architectural objects. Their pieces are made from solid wood, raw metal, and occasional polyester lacquer, materials valued for the patina and imperfections that develop with time and use. Production is entirely handcrafted in collaboration with Italian artisans in Padova, Milan, and the wider Lombard region.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
