The Palco is an armchair from the Intermezzo collection, created by De Troupe in collaboration with Studioutte.
The form is cuboid and low to the ground, sitting directly on the floor without raised legs. The outer arms are defined by bold vertical panels in silver-toned metal, which frame the upholstered seat and backrest and give the piece its architectural character. The upholstery is light beige, a short-pile textile with a soft texture that contrasts directly with the metal panels. This pairing of warm textile against cold metal is the central material dialogue in the Palco.
The construction is angular throughout, avoiding the rounded silhouettes typical of domestic seating. Both the metal panels and the textile seat are resolved with precise edges, reinforcing the piece's reading as furniture with a structural, almost industrial logic.
The Palco is part of the Intermezzo collection, a body of work produced by De Troupe and Studioutte. Made to order.

About
De Troupe
Gabriel Abraham founded Atelier de Troupe in Los Angeles in 2011, drawing on fifteen years as a production designer for film and television. Born in Switzerland and raised in Aix-en-Provence, Abraham moved to Los Angeles in 1995. His transition into object design began in the Schindler-designed Bubeshko Apartments, where he started building lamps to complement the modernist interior. That origin tells you everything about his approach: the studio conceives each piece like a film set, building atmosphere before committing to form.
The aesthetic draws from Bauhaus minimalism, French Art Deco, and the cinematic design of 1960s Italy. Working with brass, bronze, hand-blown glass, and steel, Abraham produces lighting and furniture made to order in the studio's 4,500-square-foot atelier in West Adams, each piece built by artisans based in Los Angeles.
Signature series such as the Pedregal collection, worked in glazed lava stone and wood inspired by Mexican modernist architecture, and the Empire lighting series, presented at Milan Design Week, illustrate the studio's formal range. Selected as a Rising Talent at Maison&Objet Paris in 2019, Atelier de Troupe has earned recognition across the collectible design field for its luxury handcrafted lighting and furniture.
On Monde Singulier, the studio's pieces are available made to order for collectors drawn to objects where material precision and cinematic atmosphere converge.
