The Canale Standard is a modular floor light by De Troupe, part of the Intermezzo collection developed in collaboration with Studioutte.
The piece presents as two tall, slender columns of stacked rectangular blocks in translucent frosted glass. Each block is distinct, carrying its own internal pattern of raised geometric ridges. Set together, they form a composed pair with a clean architectural silhouette. The dominant tone is white, with subtle grey shifts where the glass's transparency creates depth between the stacked blocks.
The Canale Standard's modular stacked form places it between a light fixture and an architectural object. It produces diffused light through the translucent glass, filtering and softening rather than directing illumination. The Canale series, which includes the Mini and the Chandelier, shares this vocabulary of frosted glass panels and geometric surface relief. Part of the Intermezzo collection, made to order.

About
De Troupe
Gabriel Abraham founded Atelier de Troupe in Los Angeles in 2011, drawing on fifteen years as a production designer for film and television. Born in Switzerland and raised in Aix-en-Provence, Abraham moved to Los Angeles in 1995. His transition into object design began in the Schindler-designed Bubeshko Apartments, where he started building lamps to complement the modernist interior. That origin tells you everything about his approach: the studio conceives each piece like a film set, building atmosphere before committing to form.
The aesthetic draws from Bauhaus minimalism, French Art Deco, and the cinematic design of 1960s Italy. Working with brass, bronze, hand-blown glass, and steel, Abraham produces lighting and furniture made to order in the studio's 4,500-square-foot atelier in West Adams, each piece built by artisans based in Los Angeles.
Signature series such as the Pedregal collection, worked in glazed lava stone and wood inspired by Mexican modernist architecture, and the Empire lighting series, presented at Milan Design Week, illustrate the studio's formal range. Selected as a Rising Talent at Maison&Objet Paris in 2019, Atelier de Troupe has earned recognition across the collectible design field for its luxury handcrafted lighting and furniture.
On Monde Singulier, the studio's pieces are available made to order for collectors drawn to objects where material precision and cinematic atmosphere converge.
