The Intermezzo Ottoman is a low, square seating piece designed by De Troupe in collaboration with Studioutte.
The piece consists of two elements: a thick cream-colored textile cushion with softly rounded edges and a slightly thinner square base in light-toned natural wood. The proportions are deliberately balanced, with the cushion and base sharing the same footprint and reading as a single composed object. No legs, no exposed hardware, no decorative detail beyond the material contrast between the soft textile above and the wood grain below.
This restraint is consistent with the Intermezzo collection, where the formal decisions across seating, lighting, and tables converge on clean geometries and honest material pairings.
The Intermezzo Ottoman functions as standalone seating or as a paired element alongside the Odeon sectional series. Made to order by De Troupe and Studioutte.

About
De Troupe
Gabriel Abraham founded Atelier de Troupe in Los Angeles in 2011, drawing on fifteen years as a production designer for film and television. Born in Switzerland and raised in Aix-en-Provence, Abraham moved to Los Angeles in 1995. His transition into object design began in the Schindler-designed Bubeshko Apartments, where he started building lamps to complement the modernist interior. That origin tells you everything about his approach: the studio conceives each piece like a film set, building atmosphere before committing to form.
The aesthetic draws from Bauhaus minimalism, French Art Deco, and the cinematic design of 1960s Italy. Working with brass, bronze, hand-blown glass, and steel, Abraham produces lighting and furniture made to order in the studio's 4,500-square-foot atelier in West Adams, each piece built by artisans based in Los Angeles.
Signature series such as the Pedregal collection, worked in glazed lava stone and wood inspired by Mexican modernist architecture, and the Empire lighting series, presented at Milan Design Week, illustrate the studio's formal range. Selected as a Rising Talent at Maison&Objet Paris in 2019, Atelier de Troupe has earned recognition across the collectible design field for its luxury handcrafted lighting and furniture.
