The story
The Do Re Mi is a black sculptural wood chair from Vova Naumov's The Lamb collection, designed as a minimalist study in form and absence.
The silhouette reduces the chair to its essential geometry: a spherical backrest floats above a compact rounded seat, supported by four thick, curved legs that arch outward with deliberate tension. The negative space between the legs reads as a figure in itself, giving the piece a quiet anthropomorphic presence without ornament or reference.
Entirely executed in black-painted wood, the Do Re Mi relies on volume and shadow rather than material contrast. The monochrome finish unifies the form and heightens the sculptural reading, making the chair as much an object to look at as to sit in.
Within The Lamb collection, the Do Re Mi stands apart from the soft textile pieces: where others work with bouclé and faux fur, this chair works in hard geometry. It represents the cooler, more architectural strand of Naumov's practice at Numo Furniture, where furniture design meets the logic of three-dimensional digital art.
About Vova Naumov

Vova Naumov grew up in Russia drawing constantly, studied at an art school for six years, then trained as an architect. After a year in the field, he shifted to 3D digital art, a move that let him push further than built structures allowed. That detour became permanent. He now leads Numo Furniture as founder and works as Art Director at Sphere.arch, between Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
His furniture starts with emotion: the way a shape registers before you understand it, the color that feels wrong then right. Naumov takes everyday categories (sofa, armchair, table) and distorts them until the object becomes strange again. Forms are surreal, proportions exaggerated, and material choices deliberate: pinewood, plywood, tablex, foam CMHR, and Mongolian fur have each appeared in his work, often combined in ways that prioritize sensation over convention.
