La table T 21 fait l’objet d’une étude très précise. Aucune erreur de calcul n’est admise et les proportions de l’ensemble doivent être parfaites car il s’agit de combiner la perfection du degré d’inclinaison des pieds à celle du plateau, mais également de calculer le degré de profilage de chaque pied en fonction de la face sur laquelle il sera assemblé, avec les autres pieds. Une pièce en bois pentagonale loge comme un verrou au cœur de l’axe du faisceau et maintient l’ensemble de la structure.

About Pierre Chapo
Pierre Chapo (1927-1987) was a French designer and cabinetmaker who trained as an architect and worked in Scandinavia before opening his own workshop, later based in Gordes, Provence. Working primarily in solid elm, he developed a vocabulary of honest joinery and robust forms, as in the S45 Chlorophylle chair and his dining tables. Collectors seek pieces from his own workshop in original condition with a good natural patina.
