About Poul Kjærholm
Danish designer (1929-1980) trained as a cabinetmaker, who applied the precision of the craft to steel, leather, cane and stone. His furniture for E. Kold Christensen, such as the PK22 lounge chair of 1956, the PK24 chaise and the PK80 daybed, combines flat spring steel frames with natural materials. Collectors prize pieces produced by Kold Christensen, before the later production by Fritz Hansen.
