The story

These beautiful two-tier end tables by French design house Maison Jansen were created with solid brass, gunmetal, and typical french neoclassical brass pine cones in the early 1970s. The black opaline glass bottom shelf is smooth, and provides an imaginative base for the piece. Its tapered feet and clean design are typical of the French neoclassical work by Maison Jansen and offer a timeless, sophisticated look. It has been restored and revarnished, and is in great vintage condition. A rare find.

About Maison Jansen

Maison Jansen was founded in Paris in 1880 by the Dutch-born Jean-Henri Jansen and became one of the most influential decorating houses of the twentieth century. Under Stéphane Boudin it worked for royal households and notably advised on the restoration of the White House under Jacqueline Kennedy. Its furniture, in a refined neoclassical taste, includes brass palm tree lamps and lacquered pieces. Collectors look for stamped or documented Jansen furniture.
