Nova is a compact stone piece by Giulio Zizzari: side table, stool, or sculptural object. The piece does not declare itself either.
Cut from dark green marble with striking white veining, Nova presents as a single monolithic block despite being formed by two rounded pillars supporting a rectangular top. The defining detail is a concave recess carved into the upper surface: mass removed from mass, a gesture that transforms the otherwise inert stone into something that rewards close attention. The rounded columns recall stripped-back classical architecture, the column reduced to its structural minimum.
Dark green marble with white veining has a geological texture that reads as drawing rather than decoration. The stone carries light differently depending on angle, so the piece shifts character across the day.
Nova takes its name from the stellar event: a white dwarf that briefly flares into brightness. The name fits a piece that is quiet in form but precise in its ambitions.

About
Giulio Zizzari
Giulio Zizzari (b. 1996) is an Italian designer driven by form, material, and presence. His practice moves between collectible design, architecture, and image-making, where objects, spaces, and visual narratives are conceived with the same sculptural sensibility.
"Giulio Zizzari" is dedicated to collectible design, creating sculptural furniture and objects through both singular pieces and limited series. Alongside this, he develops architectural projects, approaching space as a physical and material composition. "StudioGZ" is a 3D visualization and creative direction studio specialized in photorealistic imagery and animation for architecture and design, acting as a bridge between concept, vision, and representation.
Through both practices, Giulio Zizzari investigates the relationship between the real and the virtual, using design, architecture, and image as interconnected tools to give form to matter, space, and imagination.
