About Pietro Chiesa
Italian glass designer Pietro Chiesa (1892-1948) founded the glass workshop Bottega di Pietro Chiesa in Milan and became artistic director of Fontana Arte from 1933. His designs include the Luminator floor lamp (1933), the curved glass Cartoccio vase and furniture in thick, bent and silvered glass. He shaped Fontana Arte's identity. Collectors seek his furniture and lamps in original glass, especially early models with period documentation.
