The story

This very nice pair of nightstands stamped Maison Jansen was created in the early 1960s with black lacquer wood, with brass and gilt details. Typical and timeless french Neoclassical, Louis XVI style, from Maison Jansen, each table features one small drawer with a brass handle, and one shelf. They have been fully restored and relacquered, and are in an amazing condition. A rare find, high quality made, both stamped Jansen.

About Maison Jansen

Maison Jansen was founded in Paris in 1880 by the Dutch-born Jean-Henri Jansen and became one of the most influential decorating houses of the twentieth century. Under Stéphane Boudin it worked for royal households and notably advised on the restoration of the White House under Jacqueline Kennedy. Its furniture, in a refined neoclassical taste, includes brass palm tree lamps and lacquered pieces. Collectors look for stamped or documented Jansen furniture.
