About Lina Bo Bardi
Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992) was an Italian-born Brazilian architect and designer who settled in Brazil in 1946. Her major buildings include the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) and SESC Pompéia. With Giancarlo Palanti she founded Studio d'Arte Palma, producing furniture in plywood and Brazilian woods, and she designed the Bowl chair (1951). Collectors prize her original furniture for its rarity and its humane approach to modernism.
