The story
The excellence of Atelier Jean Perzel craftsmanship. This is a rare pair of Jean Perzel hand cut Saint Gobain glass sconces produced in the early 1930s, model number 650. They are made of hand cut translucent Saint Gobain glass, with opaline glass on the top, inside an off white painted metal structure. They have been fully restored, electrified with 2 bulbs, and are found in an amazing condition. These are true Art Deco decorative masterpieces.
About Jean Perzel
Born in Bohemia in 1892, Jean Perzel settled in Paris and opened his own lighting workshop in 1923, which remains active today. His ceiling lights, sconces and lamps use sandblasted and frosted glass with brass or nickelled metal to diffuse light softly and without glare, in geometric Art Deco forms. He equipped palaces, ocean liners and private residences. Collectors seek signed period pieces with original glass.
