The story
This pair of stainless steel armchairs from the 1960s-1970s era was designed by François Monnet and manufactured by Kappa from 1970 to 1975, and it almost looks as though it hasn’t been touched since then. The round shapes with sharp assembly, combined with slick stainless steel and soft suede fabric is really a thing of beauty. They have been fully restored, repolished, and reupholstered with a brown suede.

About François Monnet
French designer active in the 1970s, known for lighting and furniture in Plexiglas, chrome and brass, much of it produced by Kappa in Paris. His lamps and tables play on transparency, stacked or curved acrylic planes and polished metal, in a refined version of the period's taste for new materials. Collectors look for well-preserved acrylic without crazing and for original fittings, which make these pieces increasingly rare.
