The story
This pair of two-tier console tables was designed by François Catroux and produced by Studio Angeletti in Italy in 1973. Their large square feet are entirely made of travertine pieces, framed by two chrome structures, with a large chrome screw on top holding them together. They both feature two transparent glass tops that have been replaced. These are very fine examples of high-quality design and craftsmanship, with an architectural construction and an impeccable finish. They are a really rare find, highly decorative, and sure to be an intriguing focal point for any living room. They are both fully restored, and found in an amazing condition.

About François Catroux
French interior designer François Catroux (1936-2020) was one of the most sought-after decorators of his generation, known for glamorous, disciplined interiors in Paris, New York and beyond. In the late 1960s and 1970s he also designed furniture in brushed steel, lacquer and Plexiglas, with sharp geometric lines that reflected the modernity of his interiors. Collectors look for these period pieces, which are rare and closely tied to his early decorating work.
