About Denise Pietra Corbara
French designer (1943-1990) known for lighting in cast bronze, much of it gilt, created from the late 1960s. Her best known model, the Sampan bedside lamp of around 1968, shows her taste for sleek, sculptural forms with an Asian influence. Some of her designs were later produced by the French bronze foundry Fondica. Collectors look for period casts in good patina, often sold in pairs.
