About
Studioutte
Established in 2020, studioutte is a Milan-based multidisciplinary practice for architecture, interiors and collectible design. The name draws from the German hütte, meaning hut or shelter, a word that carries the spirit of the studio's approach.
Guglielmo Giagnotti and Patrizio Gola founded studioutte around a shared philosophy of warm minimalism: a pursuit of purity through vernacular forms, primitive essence, and poetic restraint. Furniture is conceived as small architectural objects. Their pieces are made from solid wood, raw metal, and occasional polyester lacquer, materials valued for the patina and imperfections that develop with time and use. Production is entirely handcrafted in collaboration with Italian artisans in Padova, Milan, and the wider Lombard region.
Giagnotti studied at the Polytechnic of Bari before joining Studio Librizzi in Milan. In Ghent, he worked alongside Robbrecht en Daem and Dierendonckblancke on public competitions, before a long engagement at Vincent Van Duysen in Antwerp, where he specialized in luxury interiors. Gola trained in interior design at the Politecnico di Milano, worked on retail and set-up projects at DWA, then joined Dimorestudio in 2017 for large-scale hospitality, retail, and residential commissions.
Since founding the studio, Giagnotti and Gola have produced interior architecture and limited-edition collectibles across Europe and New York. The Rootine Wellness Club in Munich (2021), the Industrialism Exhibition at the Urban Zen Center in New York (2022), and the Sala d'Attesa installation at the 2024 Milan Design Week stand among their key projects. The Ert Chair and a dedicated collection for Nilufar Gallery have placed their work in the collectible design conversation. Studioutte was included in the AD 100 list in 2024.
Their collectible editions are available through Monde Singulier.
