The story
The Vanguard Lounge Chair is a sculptural seating piece by Max Brockbank, part of the Studio Brocky Collection.
Its form is drawn from the body of an electric guitar: a continuous, low-profile silhouette that curves and flows along a single uninterrupted line. The upholstery sits close and taut across the frame, and the piece rests on a polished chrome cylindrical base that holds the chair at a slight hover above the floor. The combination of warm textile and cold metal is deliberate, a translation of glam rock's own aesthetic tension.
The chair is available in rouge British wool, tobacco velvet, yellow mohair, or Starman silver leather. Inside, the cushioning layers boar bristle with coconut fibre, a traditional construction that gives the seat its particular density and recovers its shape over years of use. All materials are sourced in Britain.
Part of the Studio Brocky Collection, the Vanguard Lounge Chair belongs to a body of work shaped in close collaboration with metalworkers and textile specialists. Each piece is handmade in England.
About Studio Brocky
Max Brockbank is the founder and designer behind Studio Brocky, a British design practice making sculptural furniture and lighting by hand in England.
Brockbank grew up in a small, once industry-fuelled town in North-East England, where making things once meant everything. When industry faded, he felt its absence first-hand. That silence became the engine behind a lifelong drive to design objects that endure. After shaping collections for major labels in New York and London, he established Studio Brocky as a return to craft and meaning over mass-market noise.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
