The story
The Scott Sofa 01 is Studio Akademos' answer to one of interior design's oldest briefs: a principal seating piece for a room that wants to be inhabited, not merely admired. Named after the Gatsby-era archetype of Café Society living, Scott carries the warmth and confidence of a Paris salon at its most hospitable.
Studio Akademos, the Paris interior design studio recognized by Architectural Digest's AD 100, designs furniture that must earn its narrative place. The Scott Sofa 01 earns it without ambiguity: it is the social centre of any room it occupies. Conversations happen here, drinks are held, guests stay longer than they planned.
The 1970s glamour at the heart of the Collection 01 aesthetic is legible in the sofa's proportions: generous but not excessive, low enough to carry the gravity of its era, refined enough to sit comfortably in a contemporary Parisian apartment. It is the first of two configurations in the Scott family, designed for a principal salon arrangement.
A luxury designer sofa from a Paris AD 100 studio, Scott Sofa 01 represents the Café Society interior design tradition practised with full contemporary awareness.
About Studio Akademos
Studio Akademos is a Paris interior design and furniture studio, founded in 2021. Within three years of opening, it joined the AD 100 (Architectural Digest's annual list of the world's leading designers), a recognition that reflects both the quality of its residential interiors and the precision of its furniture editions.
The studio builds its aesthetic from three distinct historical sources: the opulent sociability of Café Society at its interwar peak, the avant-garde formal confidence of European design in the 1970s, and the functional precision that contemporary domestic life demands. The combination is not decorative nostalgia. Each source era is studied at depth before a project begins, and every decision, from proportion to material to surface finish, must be traceable back to that foundation. Material selection is part of the same rigour: each surface is chosen for what it contributes to the narrative the piece is meant to carry.
