The story
The Cabin View Double Mirror (L) is a large wall mirror by Rudy Guénaire, from the Croisière collection, distinguished from the simple Cabin View by its two-material frame.
Its outer form is a rounded rectangle in cream lacquer, wide and generous in its proportions. Inside, a second frame in warm brown varnished wood traces a close contour around the central glass, creating a layered border in two concentric surfaces. The wood grain reads against the smooth lacquer, the two materials in quiet conversation across the frame's depth.
The outer frame is cream lacquered wood with a slightly convex finish. The inner frame is brown varnished wood with visible natural grain. Together they shift the piece from a utilitarian mirror into an object where the frame itself carries decorative weight, in the tradition of French bimatière furniture from the 1950s and 1960s.
Within the Croisière collection, the Double Mirror extends Cabin View's porthole reference. Rudy Guénaire introduces material contrast as a formal device, a recurring move in his Studio Night Flight work where natural and finished materials are placed in close proximity.
About Rudy Guénaire

Rudy Guénaire draws everything by hand. No 3D software, no renderings, just pencil on paper, from floor plans to furniture to napkin holders. It is the most legible fact about how he works, and it shapes what his spaces feel like: particular, considered, resistant to the generic.
He came to design sideways. A graduate of HEC, he co-founded PNY (Paris New York) in 2012 as a restaurateur, and it was through building out successive PNY locations across Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, and Bordeaux that he discovered a talent for interior design. Working alongside architects CUT and Bernard Dubois sharpened that instinct further. In 2021, he formalized the practice as Studio Night Flight, a name taken from Saint-Exupéry.
