The story
The Going to the Moon Chrome Sconce is a wall light by Rudy Guénaire, from the Croisière collection.
Its structure is formed from two vertical elements in brushed chrome-plated metal, angled outward from a central axis and framing a spherical white diffuser at their midpoint. The silhouette reads as a stylized H, the uprights acting as a geometric bracket for the globe. The chrome finish is consistent across all exposed metal, the brushed texture reducing the reflectivity of what would otherwise be a high-gloss surface.
The diffuser is a sphere in milky opaline glass, which distributes light across a broad angle and shifts into amber at low intensity. The chrome structure adds no color to the light; warmth comes entirely from the glass.
Going to the Moon exists in two versions within the Croisière collection: this chrome variant, whose metal frame references the sci-fi and industrial design of the mid-20th century, and a wood version that places the same globe in a warmer, quieter material context. Rudy Guénaire works both registers from a single formal idea.
About Rudy Guénaire

Rudy Guénaire draws everything by hand. No 3D software, no renderings, just pencil on paper, from floor plans to furniture to napkin holders. It is the most legible fact about how he works, and it shapes what his spaces feel like: particular, considered, resistant to the generic.
He came to design sideways. A graduate of HEC, he co-founded PNY (Paris New York) in 2012 as a restaurateur, and it was through building out successive PNY locations across Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, and Bordeaux that he discovered a talent for interior design. Working alongside architects CUT and Bernard Dubois sharpened that instinct further. In 2021, he formalized the practice as Studio Night Flight, a name taken from Saint-Exupéry.
