The story
Table Basse 1989 is a coffee table in brushed stainless steel, from collection 1989 by Nouveau Standard.
The glass top is supported by four broad angled legs that splay outward in a low, wide-footed stance. Beneath the top, a length of violet sapphire wool satin hangs in a hammock curve, attached at the legs and suspended across the underside of the piece. This satin sling is the design: not an ornament added to the structure, but its visual logic. Cold angled steel on the outside, soft draped fabric underneath.

About Nouveau Standard
Nouveau Standard is a design and creative studio founded in 2024 by Simon Brandeau and Jonathan Fleurance. Extending their architectural practice within Atelier Standard, based in Nantes, the duo has developed a universe dedicated to collectible furniture and objects.
Through its collections, Nouveau Standard explores the intimate relationship we maintain with objects and the memories they carry. Drawing inspiration from the history of fashion, design, and decorative arts, the studio revisits forms, uses, and details inherited from different eras.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order.
