The story
Chaise 1989 is a dining and accent chair from collection 1989 by Nouveau Standard.
The frame is brushed stainless steel, angular and geometric; the seat and backrest cushions are in violet sapphire wool satin, produced by Florence Hamon in Nantes. The defining form element is the cylindrical backrest bolster: a rounded wool form set into a hard metal structure, recalling the stuffed upholstered chairs of late 1980s domestic interiors, reread through contemporary precision. Compact and upright, it works as a dining chair or standalone accent piece.

About Nouveau Standard
Nouveau Standard is a design and creative studio founded in 2024 by Simon Brandeau and Jonathan Fleurance. Extending their architectural practice within Atelier Standard, based in Nantes, the duo has developed a universe dedicated to collectible furniture and objects.
Through its collections, Nouveau Standard explores the intimate relationship we maintain with objects and the memories they carry. Drawing inspiration from the history of fashion, design, and decorative arts, the studio revisits forms, uses, and details inherited from different eras.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
