M_007 Wood Lounge Chair

The M_007 Lounge Chair in white oak is a low-profile seat built from stacked geometric blocks of dark-toned wood. Designed by Marc Personick for the Monolith Collection, it applies the same formal vocabulary the studio uses in stone to a wood medium: offset horizontal planes, an angled backrest, and minimal surface treatment.

The chair reads as a sculptural object before it reads as furniture. Its proportions are deliberate, wide and low, with the backrest set at a backward pitch that suggests the body should settle in rather than sit upright. The dark wood grain is visible across every surface, its natural variation the only texture in an otherwise uniform composition.

White oak was chosen for its density and stability. The grain pattern across the stacked blocks creates a quiet continuity between levels, though each block retains a distinct visual mass. No joins are visible; the form appears integral.
