The story
The M_018 Dining Table is a travertine dining table from the Monolith Collection, designed by Marc Personick in New York.
A rectangular slab of travertine with gently rounded edges sits atop four legs of bell-shaped section. The legs flare at their bases, lending the piece a planted weight that reads as much geological as architectural. The combination of horizontal plane and four vertical supports is ancient; the execution belongs to the brutalist vocabulary Marc Personick has developed since the studio's founding in 2023.
Travertine runs throughout the piece. The stone carries a natural cream-to-beige palette, crossed by dark inclusions and open pores that record its mineral formation. Each table is therefore singular in surface pattern.
The M_018 occupies a central position in the Monolith Collection. It pairs naturally with the M_013 Dining Chair in white oak and the stone seating from the same line.
About Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
