The story
The M_19 is a travertine desk from the Monolith Collection by Marc Personick.
A rectangular top, with its ends softly rounded, sits on two conical legs. The legs are broad at the base and taper upward to meet the underside of the slab, a support logic that echoes the M_017 console but applied here to a working surface. The horizontal plane is generous enough to serve as a desk while the proportions keep the piece low to the floor in the manner characteristic of the Monolith Collection.
Travertine is used throughout: the top is a solid slab of light beige stone, its porous surface left raw, the earthy tones varying across the face of the material. The conical legs are cut from the same stone, giving the desk a monolithic coherence despite being composed of separate elements.
The M_19 represents an extension of Marc Personick's vocabulary into the working interior, applying the material and formal logic of the Monolith Collection to home office furniture.
About Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
