The story
The M_014 is a sculptural marble lamp from the Monolith Collection, designed by Marc Personick.
A cylindrical stone base rises to support two offset circular disks stacked at different heights. The gap between them is where the light lives: a warm glow emits from within, framed by the geometry of the disks above and below. Viewed from the front, the form reads as pure sculpture; lit, it shifts into a functional domestic object.
The stone is Calacatta marble, selected for its cream ground and the dramatic sweep of its black and grey veining. Each lamp presents a different pattern, as the marble's character varies from block to block, making every piece singular.
In the Monolith Collection, the M_014 stands apart as Marc Personick's first lighting piece, applying the same brutalist restraint to a category where stone is rarely the primary material.
About Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
