The story
The M_006 is a low console in travertine, part of the Monolith Collection by Marc Personick. Three trapezoidal block supports carry a flat top, each angled slightly inward toward the center to create open voids between them. The silhouette is broad and close to the ground, defined by the repeated geometry of the support blocks more than by the top surface.
Marc Personick's approach to the M_006 follows the logic he applied across the Monolith Collection: structural expression over concealment, material weight as aesthetic position. The open voids between supports are not incidental; they are part of the formal composition, introducing shadow and depth into the otherwise solid mass.
Travertine is present throughout, with horizontal veining and natural dark flecks across all surfaces. The stone is left in its natural state, neither polished nor sealed, so its texture reads clearly in any light condition.
The M_006 fits along an entry wall, beneath a window, or in any context where a low horizontal piece should carry architectural weight. Available through Monde Singulier as part of the Monolith Collection.
About Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
