The story
The M_005 is a bench in white oak, designed by Marc Personick for the Monolith Collection. Its form is low and rectangular, with the top surface connecting to two solid U-shaped supports through waterfall edges, thick rounded profiles that give the piece its mass. A faint horizontal recess along the front face suggests an integrated drawer, though it reads first as a graphic line within the composition.
The bench carries the same material position as the other wood pieces in the Monolith Collection: white oak shown as-is, grain visible, no staining or surface treatment beyond what is structurally required. The natural medium brown varies through the wood, giving each unit a subtly distinct character within the same formal parameters.
Marc Personick designed the M_005 with proportions that allow it to function as a bench, a surface, or a room object depending on placement. At the foot of a bed, along an entryway wall, or centered in a room as a low table, it holds its position without requiring other furniture to complete the composition.

About Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
