The story
The Orso Divan by Mathieu Delacroix is an upholstered chaise lounge from the Orso collection, a Monde Singulier exclusive.
The piece follows the formal logic of the Orso collection: a low, elongated body with rounded edges, and a curved backrest that flows continuously into a single armrest on the right side. Nothing interrupts the profile. The piece rests on a recessed dark plinth that keeps the upholstered silhouette clean from every angle.
A neutral beige textile covers every surface uniformly, reinforcing the sense of a form shaped from a single material rather than assembled from parts. Proportions are generous without becoming heavy.
Mathieu Delacroix designed the Orso collection around a compact silhouette capable of integrating into varied interiors without asserting itself too strongly. The Orso Divan holds that balance between day bed and traditional chaise, a quiet piece that rewards the space it occupies.
About Mathieu Delacroix
Mathieu Delacroix is a French designer based in Paris, working across object, furniture, and interior design. A graduate of the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Étienne (2016), he also studied at Nagoya City University in Japan, an experience that continues to inform his approach to form, material, and the cultural weight carried by everyday objects.
His early work earned international recognition at Dubai Design Week, the Milan Design Week, and PAD London. He also won First Prize in the Cinna Young Talent competition for his Tasso vase series. Alongside collaborations with studios including Guillaume Delvigne, Frédéric Forest & Clémentine Giaconia, and RDAI, Delacroix maintains an independent practice rooted in drawing, emotion, and material exploration.
