The story
The Orso Chaise Longue is a fully upholstered lounger by Mathieu Delacroix, part of the Orso collection.
Its form is continuous: the curved back and armrests flow without interruption into the seat and the elongated footrest, leaving no visible seam or structural break. The silhouette is soft and generous without adding visual weight. A dark, low-profile base sits slightly recessed beneath the piece, keeping it close to the floor without anchoring it heavily.
The upholstery covers every surface in a plush, muted beige textile. The fabric has a tactile softness that reads as restrained and warm across varying light conditions, with no contrast trims or decorative edging.
Within the Orso collection, the Chaise Longue shares a formal vocabulary with the armchair, sofa, ottoman, and divan. Mathieu Delacroix designed these pieces as a coherent seating family: rounded contours, recessed bases, and a single textile register applied consistently from one format to the next.
About Mathieu Delacroix
Mathieu Delacroix is a French designer based in Paris, working across object, furniture, and interior design. A graduate of the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Étienne (2016), he also studied at Nagoya City University in Japan, an experience that continues to inform his approach to form, material, and the cultural weight carried by everyday objects.
His early work earned international recognition at Dubai Design Week, the Milan Design Week, and PAD London. He also won First Prize in the Cinna Young Talent competition for his Tasso vase series. Alongside collaborations with studios including Guillaume Delvigne, Frédéric Forest & Clémentine Giaconia, and RDAI, Delacroix maintains an independent practice rooted in drawing, emotion, and material exploration.
