The story
The Stellata ceiling lamp places the collection's textile shade overhead, where it functions as a low-profile disc rather than a vertical form. Suspended from a brushed silver ceiling plate on a short cylindrical stem, the shade is a rounded, segmented oval of off-white fabric, soft and contained, sitting calm in the room without reaching for attention. A small brass-toned detail at the shade's centre marks the junction between fabric and stem: a precise finish on a quiet object.
Where the floor and table lamps make the shade vertical and readable at distance, the ceiling version integrates the light source into the ceiling plane. It works in spaces where a pendant would crowd the room, and in larger volumes where considered restraint is the point.
Bazin designed Stellata exclusively for Monde Singulier after training at the Versailles School of Architecture. The ceiling lamp is produced in small series alongside French artisans, with Bazin involved at each stage from prototype to final piece.
About François Bazin
François Bazin trained at the Versailles School of Architecture, where the study of classical arts and garden architecture shaped the visual language he still applies. His studio produces furniture, interiors and lighting that draw their forms from the natural world: botanical structures, organic volumes, the measured geometries of plant life and landscape.
Each piece is produced in small series in French artisan ateliers. Bazin follows every stage of production, from first prototype to finished object, dialoguing with the craftsmen and contributing directly to key manufacturing phases. This close involvement is how the studio promotes the talent and savoir-faire of French artisans, while maintaining the material precision that defines the work.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
