The Frank Sofa is a marble seating piece by Aurélia Bouyssonie, part of the Tribute Collection produced by Marmo Spirito in Tunis.
The form is architectural in scale: broad, low-slung proportions drawn from the stripped-back modernist vocabulary Bouyssonie associates with Jean Michel Frank. The silhouette is resolved through flat planes and clean intersections, with no upholstery softening the geometry.
Marble is the sole material. The stone's weight is structural and visual; the piece holds its position through mass rather than mechanism. Surface treatment follows the studio's approach to the material, preserving natural veining and the mineral character of the stone rather than polishing it to uniformity.
Within the Tribute Collection, the Frank Sofa anchors the seating group alongside the Frank Armchair and Frank Footstool, each piece a direct homage to the rigorous elegance of its namesake.

About
Marmo Spirito
Aurélia Bouyssonie is a French architect and designer based in Tunis, working under Marmo Spirito, a brand she founded around marble furniture and material experimentation.
Educated in Rome and Paris, she developed a minimalist approach rooted in Mediterranean vernacular architecture. Her declared references are Mies van der Rohe and Jean Michel Frank: both offer the same lesson in restraint, where essential forms and noble materials do the work that ornament refuses to do. Bouyssonie applies that discipline to furniture that reads as sculpture first, seating second.
From a hybrid gallery-studio on the outskirts of Tunis, she also leads Phosphor, a creative collective that has turned the surrounding neighborhood into a production and exhibition hub. The studio operates across architecture commissions and object design, with marble as the constant thread.
On Monde Singulier, Marmo Spirito is represented by the Tribute Collection: the Frank Sofa, Frank Armchair, and Frank Footstool. Each piece is carved from marble, conceived as architectural marble seating that pays direct homage to the two masters who give the collection its name. The result is sculptural marble furniture designed to hold its character over decades, not seasons.
