TROCADÉRO - Stool

The Trocadéro Stool is an upholstered seating piece by Marika Dru, part of the Trocadéro collection produced by Atelier MKD.

A cream cushion rests on a dark wood base whose hourglass form, wider at the top and bottom and narrowed through a curved center, gives the piece a formal quality unusual in functional seating. The hourglass shape echoes the concave curves found elsewhere in the Trocadéro collection, creating a visual continuity across the series. Its compact height and contained proportions balance functional purpose with formal character.

The juxtaposition of polished dark wood and cream upholstery is the same material pairing established in the Trocadéro Bench, deployed here at a smaller scale. The cushion's pale tone against the wood's deep brown creates a contrast that is restrained rather than decorative.
