TROCADÉRO - Bench

The Trocadéro Bench is an upholstered seating piece by Marika Dru, part of the Trocadéro collection by Atelier MKD.

A thick rectangular cream cushion rests on a dark brown wooden platform whose recessed central base creates a floating quality, the surface appearing to hover above the ground. Two cylindrical bolster pillows flank the cushion, completing the composition with a formal balance that avoids rigidity. The interplay between the horizontal wood structure and the vertical bolsters creates a geometry that reads as both furniture and architectural element.

The two-material contrast, dark polished wood against cream textile, is the piece's defining formal choice. The upholstery introduces softness into the Trocadéro collection's vocabulary of dark wood volumes, and the bolsters add a note of deliberate restraint.
