About
Antoni Gaudí
Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) was a Catalan artist and architect who achieved a unique synthesis of art, architecture, and design. As a leading figure of Modernisme (the Catalan Art Nouveau), his distinctive forms express a deeply personal style shaped by faith and a profound connection to nature.
Recognized globally as Spain’s most celebrated architect, Gaudí is revered not only for his groundbreaking buildings and architectural innovations but also for his holistic approach to design. He conceived both structural elements and decorative details, including furniture, as integral components of his architectural vision.
Gaudí’s furniture has inspired generations of designers. BD was the first company to revive these historic pieces, meticulously reproducing them using the same traditional techniques and materials, solid varnished oak, that Gaudí employed, ensuring every intricate detail is faithfully preserved.
