The Écrin Banquette is a seat conceived with architectural discipline. Produced by Atelier PA, the French studio founded by Julien Pradignac, it belongs to a collection whose name, Écrin (French for jewel case), sets a precise standard: every piece is built to frame its space with the same rigour applied to a building's structure.

The bench reads as a clean horizontal plane. Proportion and shadow do most of the work; upholstery is applied with restraint, subordinate to the overall geometry rather than its dominant feature. There is no decoration added for effect; only decisions that contribute to the whole.

Atelier PA works at the intersection of architecture, interior design, and furniture, treating them as a single discipline. The studio's rational aesthetic is not a style but a method: authentic materials, considered detail, and the durability that comes from building things correctly. Atelier PA is a French design studio founded by Julien Pradignac, working across architecture, interior design, and furniture. Based in France, the studio treats these three disciplines as a single practice, each informing the others.
