The story
This rare pair of two-tier bedside tables by Italian designer Silvio Cavatorta was created in the early 1950s and entirely made of mahogany wood. These tables are typical of the timeless Italian Mid-Century style in the 1950s to 1960s era. They have been fully restored and refinished, and are in a great vintage condition. A rare find, high quality made, with a lot of attention to details.
About Silvio Cavatorta
Italian designer Silvio Cavatorta worked in the 1950s, creating furniture in the sculptural spirit of postwar Italian design. His armchairs, desks, wardrobes and cabinets, often in maple or other fine woods with brass fittings, feature expressive curves and carefully shaped profiles. Collectors look for his seating and case pieces with original wood surfaces and brass details, prized for their elegance and quality of craftsmanship.
