About Roger Capron
French ceramicist (1922-2006) who settled in Vallauris in 1946 and founded the Atelier Callis, which grew into one of the leading ceramic workshops of the postwar years. He is known for tables topped with ceramic tiles in graphic patterns, as well as vases, panels and tableware. Collectors seek signed pieces, especially tables and tiles, which reflect the optimism of French design in the 1950s and 1960s.
