About Pierre Paulin
Pierre Paulin (1927-2009) was a French designer who transformed seating in the 1960s with models for the Dutch company Artifort, including the Mushroom, Tongue and Ribbon chairs, built from foam over metal frames and covered in stretch fabric. He designed interiors for the Élysée Palace for Presidents Pompidou and Mitterrand. Collectors seek early Artifort editions and pieces from his limited productions.
