The story

This beautiful brass and thick Murano glass table vanity mirror was designed by Gio Ponti and manufactured by Fontana Arte in Italy in the 1950s. It features a brass structure with an adjustable brass mirror frame, attached to a thick Murano glass base. A perfect mirror for a bedroom, dressing room or bathroom. It is really heavy, made with high-quality materials and beautiful craftsmanship. The brass has been fully cleaned, mirror replaced, and the piece is found in an amazing vintage condition. A true Mid-century modern Italian beauty, that will impart its glamourous energy to any space it inhabits.

About Gio Ponti

Milanese architect Gio Ponti (1891-1979) shaped modern Italian design for half a century. He founded the magazine Domus in 1928, directed Richard-Ginori's ceramics, worked with Fontana Arte, and designed the Superleggera chair for Cassina (1957) and the Pirelli Tower. His furniture joins lightness, wit and craftsmanship. Collectors look for documented pieces from his collaborations with makers such as Giordano Chiesa, Cassina and Fontana Arte, and for project-specific furniture.
