About Cor Alons
Cor Alons (1892-1967) was a Dutch interior architect and furniture designer who taught at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Active from the 1920s, he moved from Art Deco influences towards a sober functionalism, designing furniture produced by manufacturers including Den Boer in Gouda. His pieces combine clear construction with careful proportions. Collectors of Dutch modernism look for his cabinets, chairs and tables in their original finish.
