The story
This is a unique pair of French wall lights designed by the famous architect Claude Parent in 1992 for a mansion project in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The structure is made of polished nickel steel, with a large globe with a nickel finish on the outside, and white enamelled on the inside. They are truly elegant and timeless French modernist pieces. They have been fully repolished, electricity checked, and are in an amazing condition.
About Claude Parent
French architect (1923-2016) and theorist of the oblique function, developed with Paul Virilio in the Architecture Principe group from 1963. Their church of Sainte-Bernadette du Banlay in Nevers remains its manifesto, and Parent also worked with Yves Klein and later on nuclear power stations. His rare furniture and interior elements translate the same inclined planes and monolithic volumes, and are sought by collectors of radical postwar French architecture.
