About Charlotte Perriand
French designer and architect (1903-1999) who joined the studio of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in 1927, where she shaped their tubular steel seating. Her stay in Japan from 1940 turned her towards wood, straw and bamboo, and after the war she produced free-form tables, bookcases with Jean Prouvé and furniture for the Les Arcs ski resort. Collectors prize pieces sold through the Galerie Steph Simon and documented commissions.
